  1. Graduates of this program will have advanced knowledge in diagnosis of oral and maxillofacial diseases and advanced clinical skills in providing care for their patients.

  2. In completing this program the graduate will be able to interact with a variety of health care professionals in many health care settings and understand the role each profession plays in the overall treatment of patients, and to coordinate patient treatment.

  3. Graduates of this program will be able to treat a wide variety of routine and complex dental patients with broader knowledge, confidence and increased skills.

  4. At the completion of this program the graduates will be more confident in treating mentally and medically compromised patients in the hospital setting. All graduates of this program will have the experience and knowledge to join a hospital staff.

  5. The graduates of this program will raise their level of confidence and competence in both their didactic and clinical skills in General Dentistry.

  6. In completing this program, the residents through increased exposure in general dentistry will increase their base knowledge and skills in the treatment of oral and maxillofacial diseases, including decisions on diagnosis and post-treatment outcomes. Training will include developing alternative treatment plans, which would include many patient options.

  7. The program will provide the graduate with training in all aspects of modern practice including patient management techniques.
